Peddling progress update – a week of ups and downs
It was great to see donations and pledges go past that raised last year, and at the time of writing the total has just gone past £1500.
I started the week with a hard, hilly virtual ride into Marlborough, which in reality was a hard hilly ride up Butser Hill and along the South Downs. After 19 miles completed I decided to have a day off on Friday ready for a hard push for the week ahead.
The weather hasn’t been great and it’s been hard to go out in the wind and rain, but Jan helped push me on the up and down ride through to busy Newbury, which I arrived on Sunday afternoon. I can understand why the Tour de France riders need a good support team, because I don’t know what I’d do without ‘Team Jan’ to keep my tyres at the right pressure, fill the water bottles and bring the vital snacks!
Monday 23rd brought the 150 mile post up and shortly after I arrived at Braeburn Lodge in Tadley near Basingstoke. I’m now on the home leg and heading south towards Bramley.
Only 32 miles to go and 1 week left to do it in…..
