Care Assistants – Nights/Days – Monmouth

The Orchard is a new residential home with 14 beds, offering exceptional care. The Orchard has been built on the grounds of our sister home, Ganarew in Monmouthshire, and is set in a stunning location surrounded by the picturesque Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.

We are looking for hard-working, enthusiastic and compassionate carers, who are looking to become Care Workers and develop within the Care Sector.

Care Assistant responsibilities

  • To help and assist residents getting up in the morning and going to bed at night
  • Helping with personal care like washing, using the toilet and dressing
  • To create and maintain good professional relationships with residents, their family and friends
  • To use manual handling equipment safely and correctly
  • Getting to know residents and their interests and needs
  • Caring, kind & enthusiastic
  • Good writing and reading skills
  • Good infinitive
  • 100% committed to helping improve the quality of life of vulnerable people
  • Able to follow Care Outlook’s policies and procedures
  • Be comfortable working within either a team setting or lone working

  • Level 2 or 3 QCF/NVQ is preferred
  • Some Care-based experience is preferable but not essential

Full time Cook – Chepstow, Monmouthshire

Castleford House has 41 beds and offers luxury accommodation for all our residents, in an idyllic location near Chepstow.

Cook Responsibilities

  • To manage the preparation of all meals in the Care Home. To undertake a range of tasks associated with food preparation including the preparation
  • Ensure that appropriate clothing, including head ware, is worn at all times by staff working within the kitchen area.
  • To ensure that all food preparation is contained within the food budget
  • Monitoring kitchen stock and ordering supplies
  • Ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained
  • Developing healthy and balance meals in consultation with residents and staff
  • Good organisational skills
  • To be able to motivate people
  • To have good time management and ability to schedule and plan ahead

Registered Nurse – Libanus, Brecon

The Mountains is a specialist nursing home with 55 beds offering the highest standards of care for elderly residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia or mental illness. The home is set in a relaxed environment, in the idyllic location of Brecon in Powys.

Registered nurse responsibilities:

  • 100% committed to helping improve the quality of life of vulnerable people
  • Able to follow Care Outlook’s policies and procedures
  • Be responsible for the care and protection of residents’ property
  • Ensure that clinical equipment is maintained in a safe, clean and fully functional state. Report any equipment failures or damage to the Manager.
  • To be responsible for the safe and appropriate management, administration and recording of medication
  • Engage in positive working relationships with GP’s, hospitals and local agencies.

  • Ensure the safety and comfort of all residents, whilst encouraging a happy, homely atmosphere

  • To be responsible for the admission of any new residents to the Home for the purpose of assessment/evaluation
  • To be aware of psychological change in residents and report such to the Home Manager or Senior Nurse.
  • To be responsible for the safe administration and recording of all medication prescribed by the resident’s medical practitioner.
  • To be responsible for the custody and safe dispersal of all medication brought into the Home, by either residents or the pharmacist.
  • To attend such training programmes/courses as are available and necessary to keep up to date and further existing knowledge.
  • Understand care planning processes and have experience of writing care plans.

  • To have good organisational skills
  • Ensure that all cleaning equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition
  • Be comfortable working within either a team setting or lone working
  • To be able to maintain a high standard of cleaning
  • Sort all linens and treat stains
  • Load all laundry into washer and add specified cleaning agents
  • Take wet, clean items and dry as directed
  • Sort and fold or hang clean dried items
  • To follow Health and Safety procedures when dealing with the disposal of waste, and in cleaning and laundering throughout the home
