Over the weekend we decided to put our culinary skills to use and create some cake jars and mini sponges. We chose what flavours to use and combined the ingredients. One resident chose salted caramel, another chose raspberry ripple, one chose lemon curd and another resident chose chocolate. We used cake cutters to create our desired size and pipping bags to decorate them. The cakes went down a treat! What weekend isn’t better with cake, anyway! We asked people who sampled the cake what they thought. One of our residents said: “it was the best chocolate cake that’s ever passed my lips” and another said: “the tartness of the raspberry really complimented the buttercream – it was a lovely cake!”
