Castleford House

This month, residents and staff at Castleford House gathered to watch the Remembrance service, observed a minute’s silence, and remember those who fought for our country. In memory of those we lost, we wrote personal messages on poppies and displayed them in the lounge, honouring our war heroes.

Another weekly visit from our favourite French pooch! Elvis always works his magic, bringing plenty of happiness and love into our home. Len couldn’t get enough of Elvis this week as he invited the doggy onto his lap, where he doted on him.

Josie and Daphne have discovered a talent for creating some autumnal arts and crafts.  The ladies have carefully cut out some seasonal leaves and hedgehogs. Over the weekend, we spent some time redesigning our feature wall in the Severn Lounge. Taking on everyone’s ideas, thoughts, and opinions towards the project, we are over the moon with the finished look.  A beautiful, autumnal, ambience fills the room and supports everyone to get ready for the upcoming spooky and cosy season. 

Our lovely Health Care Assistants, Alice and Joyce, have supported Louise and Barbara to spend some time in our beautiful grounds today.  Together the ladies have picked some daisies and made daisy chains, whilst Barbara has shown us some of her best dance moves in the glorious sunshine. 

Thanks to a generous donation, our residents decided to skip the vases and create beautiful 3D floral portraits instead. By threading flowers through drawings of vases, they crafted unique and vibrant artwork that now decorates the home. What an innovative approach to floral art!
