Help is at Hand!

At The Mountains Care Home we have many residents who like to be involved and help with the daily tasks that go on in and around the home. This week we saw Teresa and Mary helping to fold up the laundry; Brian enjoyed teaching Activities Co-ordinator Debbie to play his keyboard and told tales of a visit to Thailand where he ate grass hoppers; Shirley went on a shopping trip to buy some new clothes and a group of residents took a stroll down the promenade to catch some fresh air, with dog owners stopping for a friendly chat. It just goes to show how much we can learn from our residents and how involving everybody in the daily life of their home can create some wonderful interaction. It’s a hive of activity at The Mountains and in times where we offer care for the individual, there really is something for each and every one of our residents to be involved in, if and when they wish.
