Over the past two days we have created our own ice cream!
All the residents have worked together to create homemade ice-cream for everyone at Castleford to try!
A few of the residents decided they wanted to make salted caramel flavoured ice-cream and used carnation caramel and rock salt as ingredients! One resident insisted on having lemon flavour, and swirled through lemon curd and fresh lemons for a zesty and tart taste!
Today, after it was set, we were able to scoop it out and serve it in cones for a sweet treat this afternoon to help keep us cool! We had great feedback from our tasters too.
One of our ladies thought that the ice-cream was “absolutely beautiful” and had to try both flavours, which she loved. She also said: “the ice-creams were sweet and creamy with the perfect consistency!”
