On 8th June we had visitors from OM Interactive to visit and they gave us an interactive board demonstration. The board was great; the residents and staff played together on the interactive board and it created many good ways to start conversations as it had questionnaire games and colouring games with pictures from the 1960s, which engaged the residents to remember their younger years. JV enjoyed playing the football game, which he was very good at, as he is a football fanatic and his favourite team is Manchester United. Melvyn enjoyed painting flowers, as when he was younger, he was a painter and now has a painting hanging in London’s National Arts Museum.

We are currently organising fundraising events to raise money to purchase an interactive table. We have a summer fête and family fun day taking place on Saturday 3rd August, which is free entry. We will have many different stalls such as hook a duck, tin can alley, brick a brac, face painting, soak the manager and many more games. We will be having a BBQ with various burgers, hot dogs and party food. There will be a raffle, and you will have the chance to win many great prizes. Raffle tickets  are available from the home now. It will be lovely to welcome the local community into our home.

On Friday 30th August at Brecon Workmen’s Club, we are hosting a fundraising event for the interactive table. Tickets are available from the club and the home at £10 each.
