Looking back at an Incredible Year!- Awards and Certificates

Posted on January 5, 2024 by Milkwood Admin

On Tuesday, November 28th, Amelia and Fiona attended the graduation ceremony at the Pavilion in Cheltenham, receiving their
certificates for completing the Dementia Link Workers and Leads course, part of the May 2023 cohort.
This twelve-week course, held weekly in Cheltenham, focuses on dementia best practices, emphasising innovative approaches to
supporting individuals with dementia. Fiona successfully qualified as a Dementia Link Worker, tasked with challenging negative
attitudes, sharing knowledge gained from the course, and providing necessary information, advice, and support for those affected
by dementia.
Meanwhile, Amelia achieved certification as a Dementia Lead, aiming to promote person-centered practices, challenge stigmatising
beliefs, and support both individuals with dementia and their caregivers.
Castleford House takes immense pride in their achievements. Currently, two Dementia Link Workers are close to qualification, and
three team members eagerly await the upcoming January and May 2024 cohorts.
Celebrations continued for Amelia as on November 24th, she was shortlisted for the ‘Activity Coordinator of the Year’ award at
the Great British Care Awards. Though she couldn’t attend this year’s ceremony, she was honored with a ‘Highly Commended’
recognition, marking another consecutive win each time she’s been shortlisted at the Great British Care Awards!
