Pancakes galore
Posted on May 1, 2012 by Milkwood Admin
Pancake day was a brilliant success at Ganarew! Our residents particularly enjoyed reminiscing.
“ Eggs for creation, flour the stuff of life, milk for purity.”
Pancake day has an interesting history and has been celebrated as far back as 1439 and did you know that one of the most famous pancake races of all times was held in Olmey Buckinghamshire? Judith, one of our ladies, lived near this particular area, and here she is pictured flipping her very own pancake. Judith enjoys fresh lemon juice and brown sugar with her pancakes.
Our residents loved this poem for Pancake Day, so much so, that we just had to share it with you!
