Tailored for the Individual

Posted on December 4, 2012 by Milkwood Admin

In all of our homes we have long been demonstrating a wide variety of activities for our residents to join in with. From golf through to knitting clubs, we have recognised the need for variety. But more now than ever we have recognised that our residents need a more tailored activity programme to better meet individual needs. An ‘activity’ is seen to be by many, a structured and engaging craft or exercise class, but we see and work with individuals who benefit most from sitting down on a one-to-one basis and playing a much loved game of cards or having a chat about times gone by. In our eyes, these activities are about ‘getting to know’ our residents and giving them the most beneficial activities for them; tailored to suit their needs.
