We’ve taken steps to reduce our carbon footprint!

Since 2020, Milkwood Care Limited have been investing in various measures, with a focus on improving energy and heating efficiencies, designed to reduce our carbon footprint throughout our homes.
In October 2020, we started to measure our emissions; at this time, we learnt that our total CO2 emissions measured 839 tonnes, an average of 3.45 tonnes per resident. The following year, we took the same measurements and saw a fall in total emissions to 775 tonnes, and a reduction in emissions per resident to 3.19 tonnes.
We are delighted to report that our emissions figures for 2022 have seen a further decrease in our carbon emissions. We’re down to 754 tonnes of emissions across our homes and this is now just 2.78 per residents. So in just two years, we have successfully reduced our total C02 levels by 10.1% and the CO2 per resident by 19.6%.
We are now working with a consultant who can advise us on further savings we can make under the government’s Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (Phase 3). We are so proud of the progress we have made so far and very pleased to be doing our bit for the environment for now and in the future.
