Chris and Margaret Parr whose Mum was with us for nearly 10 years, she recently passed away and they came bearing a gift for every member of staff. A personalised bottle of wine with a message from their Mum Evelyn.

Tickled pink joined us on the 1st of February for their panto Beauty and the Beast. We had great fun …booing the bad guys… and singing along with the songs.

Love was in the air this Valentine’s..      

Applewood took to celebrating National Winnie The Pooh Day with a talk from a Honey expert and bee-keeper (a tenuous link, but a link all the same!)

We love a trip to our local life-size museum – Milestones. You can take a walk through all the decades of the past 100 years… and wander through the streets from the turn of the century.  

Residents loved making Valentine’s cards and decorations. David made a Sheffield Wednesday card to send to his niece who is a Sheffield United supporter. He was giggling all the time he was making it.  

We had a fab day on St David’s Day at The Mountains. With Welsh Lamb Cawl for Dinner and of course Welsh cakes with our afternoon Tea, we even had Bethan, our activities co-ordinator, teaching us a few welsh words. Our residents, staff and families at Ganarew enjoyed cheese and wine whilst participating in our music quiz! There were prizes for everyone and the residents had a great time.
