Beautician On A Mission is Castleford Houses’ new in-house beauty service, provided by new lifestyles coordinator, formerly senior carer, Amelia Pace. 

The name ‘Beautician On A Mission’ was created by someone we care for, Margaret Symonds. One day, whilst Amelia was assisting Margaret with her makeup. Margaret said, “You’re my own personal beautician, just like a beautician on a mission”. That’s how this new journey started.

Amelia said, “After completing an NVQ in Salon Services many years ago, it’s something I have always enjoyed. I have always believed that having your nails and makeup done is a luxury and I felt that providing this for the residents could bring some joy into their lives.”

She added, “Whilst assisting Joy Heath a few weeks ago with a manicure, Joy suggested to me that I should start my own business. Joy helped me to create a business sign and we used Margaret’s name idea… and Beautician On A Mission was born.”

At the moment Amelia is providing a range of basic beauty treatments, including:

• Makeup application 

• Facial hair removal 

• Nail polish 

• Gel nail polish 

The in-home business has been a huge success so far and the feedback from the residents who have enjoyed treatments and relatives has been really positive.
