Canal Cruise

Posted on September 5, 2022 by Milkwood Admin

Residents and staff enjoyed a lovely time on the Monmouth and Brecon Canal at Goytre Wharf.
It was a beautiful September morning when staff and residents took to the water on the narrowboats to be navigated through the beautiful, tranquil Monmouthshire countryside. During the trip on the canal, they were lucky enough to see plenty of wildlife. Herons, ducks, cows and also horses, which were grazing beside the water and were pretty curious about the boat as it passed by.

The crew at Goytre Wharf were fantastic and made the visit extra special. They provided lots of information along the way about the history of the canal and the development of the surrounding area. They also supplied everyone with plenty of tea and biscuits, and staff, Andy and Alex, even got the chance to steer the boat! The Orchard would like to thank Glyn and his crew at Goytre Wharf for a wonderful morning and hope to visit Monmouth and Brecon Canal for another narrowboat trip in the near future
