Over the last few weeks, we’ve held a number of afternoon conversations with our lovely resident, Rene.
Rene is 100 years young and reminisced about her time on the London Palladium stage as a vocalist and puppeteer. Although very modest about her past, Rene was happy to look back at her time on the stage through a collection of stunning photographs. Her beautiful portraits are testament to a wonderful talented lady who travelled the world as ‘The Singing Cartoonist’. During these sessions with Rene, she was happy to try her hand at working a puppet made by the firm ‘Pelham’ who originally produced her famous marionettes.
As previously mentioned, Rene is an extremely modest lady who very rarely talks about her past, so to share a little time in the afternoons with her was a great privilege. Thank you, Rene.
