Goodbye Joanne

Posted on May 1, 2012 by Milkwood Admin

Joanne came to Chatterwood from the Philippines as a carer, 7 years ago. She has left to work as a Health Care Assistant at Queen Alexander Hospital in Cosham, where she hopes to complete her nursing training. Everyone will miss Joanne as she was a very friendly, caring, warm hearted person and a very knowledgeable and respected carer. Joanne had a great sense of humour and would do anything for anyone.

Joanne chose the theme of her leaving party and opted to sing karaoke songs with her fellow members of staff and to share with everyone Philippine food that Joanne and her colleagues had cooked. Everyone really enjoyed the food and many residents had ‘seconds’. We arranged a collection for Joanne and raised over £200, so we decided to let her pick her own leaving presents. Joanne chose some really funky, flowery, high heeled shoes. No surprises there, as she adores shoes. Joanne also chose a charm for her Pandora bracelet and a rucksack for when she is out and about.

We all had a fantastic afternoon and we will all miss her. We wish Joanne well in her new career and good wishes to her and Damien for when they get married in May.
