As many of you know, the Castleford House team went to the Great British Care Awards Southwest regionals on Saturday 26th November, having been shortlisted for four awards. These awards are extremely prestigious and to be shortlisted for four awards is an incredible achievement in itself.

The winners of these awards are entered into the Great British Care Award national finals in Birmingham in March 2023. To be shortlisted at the regionals was amazing – to reach the national final would be indescribable.Three of our amazing nominees, Ben Miller (the “Care Home Manager of the Year” award), Jess Gayford (the “Putting People First” award) and Julie Norton (the “Good Nurse” award”) fell short in this hurdle. However, we are extremely proud to announce that Amelia Pace, our Head of Lifestyles, won the “Activities Organiser of the Year” award and will be going to the national finals!Amelia is still in shock at winning her well-deserved award. She said: “I was genuinely lost for words which, if you know me, is very rare! I am completely overwhelmed yet incredibly proud of this achievement. I am very grateful for everyone’s ongoing support that enabled me to be where I am today.”We still have one more awards ceremony to come, this Thursday 1st December in Leicester for the Caring UK awards, where we have been shortlisted for two more awards. We’re looking forward to an incredible night and, hopefully, yet more awards!
