Group news: Meet The managers
Posted on June 10, 2019 by Milkwood Admin
It’s all change at the top in two of our Hampshire homes. Over the last month, new home managers have been appointed at both Applewood and Milkwood House, and staff, residents and the new managers themselves are all thrilled with the change.
Ellen Masterson is the new care manager at Applewood. Ellen is new to Milkwood Care and has a long career in a wide range of care and management roles, spanning 25 years. She joins us from Southampton, where she had a role as a deputy manager in a large 100+ bed nursing home. She says that she wanted to join Milkwood Care because of the company ethos and she was impressed with the passion, dedication and hands-on approach of the management team.
Ellen is planning to expand the current activities programme at Applewood and is committed to continuing the current refurbishment programme – new décor and brighter lighting is on its way.
Milkwood House has welcomed Cris Arnold as the registered Care Manager. Cris has most recently worked at Applewood and has 30 years’ experience in many roles, ranging from young offending to probation service work. The care teams are working together to implement dedicated resting areas incorporating sensory activities for the residents and Cris says she is really enjoying receiving input from staff and residents for further improvements for the home. Chris is also enjoying getting to know residents and staff alike. Staff at Milkwood House are planning ahead for the Milkwood House summer fête, so if anybody would like to be involved, please give the home a call.
