To boost morale at Castleford, Ben suggested that we throw a socially distanced BBQ for residents and the staff on shift.
Ben was BBQ chef for the afternoon and did a fantastic job at cooking our tea. We had an amazing time enjoying the lovely weather and each other’s company. Our residents had been missing their families because of the lockdown, so we wanted to cheer them up by doing a different outdoor activity to the ones that we did during lockdown. We put some music on and fired up the BBQ. The delicious smells of outdoor cooking drew the residents outside and there certainly was a party feel to the evening. The residents and staff enjoyed themselves and we can’t wait until the next one.
We are planning another BBQ for our residents sometime this summer.
