Milkwood Care is proud to support the next generation of motorsport professionals

Posted on June 23, 2022 by Milkwood Admin

Milkwood Care is delighted to sponsor MET Motorsport, a team of engineering and technology students who are studying Motorsport at university, and successfully building and racing high performance cars on track days at racing circuits around the country.

The students, from Greater Brighton Metropolitan College, are all studying degree level Motorsport courses at a specialist engineering campus, and Milkwood Care is contributing funds to assist their participation in the practical elements of their studies; enabling the students to get involved and compete in real-life motorsport events.

MET Motorsport is taking part in the Nankang Tyre CityCar Cup Championship, a new grassroots saloon car circuit race series. Races take place over 7 weekends throughout the season, culminating in a super finale weekend in October, at the home of British Racing – Silverstone.

Rounds 3 & 4 of the series were recently held at the 3 mile Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk, and featured the team’s newly built car, driven by Richard Jepp, the son of Milkwood Care Finance Director, Larry Jepp. Richard actually works as an engineer for a manufacturing company and is an accomplished and experienced racing driver. Not many people know that Richard has shared a circuit or two with Lewis Hamilton, the Formula 1 racing driver, back in their karting days.

Richard has written a very detailed review of the team’s experience and performance at Snetterton for us to read here.

We think you will agree that his commentary clearly demonstrates the excitement and the skill involved when driving in a professional race. It is also clear that the sport is very much a team effort and that the car’s final race place results are as important for each individual team member, whatever their role, as it is for the driver!

Well done, Richard and team – we look forward to hearing about a win at Anglesey!
