Remembering Bob

Posted on March 16, 2025 by Milkwood Admin

Robert, or ‘Bob’, came to the Lodge in 2016. His outstanding trait was his eccentricity, and he maintained this throughout his stay.

He chose who he wanted to spend time with, and it wasn’t uncommon for visiting professionals to travel miles to meet Bob for them to be totally ignored, especially if they visited during something interesting on the television!

He was able to maintain his independence whilst living in his flat. He loved a good political argument, and his cookbooks were his hobby. He had many interesting accounts of his time with Visa and his travels. He also lost both his parents during his stay at the Lodge, and we were able to assist him during these sad times.

It is fair to say that despite a fair level of independence; Bob couldn’t live the life he wanted. He was much loved by many of our staff, and on behalf of all the Lodge staff, we pass our condolences to Bob’s lovely sister, Anna and her family, and to his brother in Devon.
