Remembering Prince Philip

Castleford House and everyone associated with us was extremely saddened by the news that Prince Philip passed away. This week, to commemorate him, we had a lunch with Greek-inspired food, the country he was born in and British food, where he lived for most of his life. We used traditional Greek feta cheese as our main ingredient in the pasta dish, by roasting it with tomatoes. We then made a classic Victoria sponge decorated with fresh cream and strawberries for dessert. The food had lots of compliments and went down really well! One resident even tried to share hers with the chickens outside! Today we joined in the Wye lounge and watched his funeral and reminisced about him and the Royal family. He has been a big part of so many of our lives for so long and we all paid our respects by participating in the minutes silence. May Prince Philip rest peacefully, we are all grateful for everything he has done for the country in his royal duties.
