The River Wye
Posted on May 1, 2012 by Milkwood Admin
The location here at Ganarew is beautiful, perfect for day trip outings with our residents. Recently, residents Joan and Adeline, and lifestyle co-ordinator Jenny, went on a lovely river trip. The river they travelled upon was the River Wye, this river is steeped in history from years gone by. It has been stated that Lord Nelson visited the area in 1802 to view the oak trees!
The river itself stretches for 134 miles and is the fifth longest river in Britain. Symonds Yat is one of the most spectacular stretches of The Wye Valley, due to its concentration of natural surroundings, wildlife and history.
