Remembrance Parade in Bordon

We had the honour of taking our very own veterans, Dennis, Ronnie, and other residents, to watch the Remembrance Parade in Bordon. Sister homes sharing high tea

Applewood and Braeburn are sister homes and love sharing special moments. They recently got together at Braeburn and enjoyed a delicious high tea and a fun quiz. Lots of fun all round!

Remembrance at Castleford

This month, residents and staff at Castleford House gathered to watch the Remembrance service, observed a minute’s silence, and remember those who fought for our country. In memory of those we lost, we wrote personal messages on poppies and displayed them in the lounge, honouring our war heroes.

Winter gardening

To prepare for the winter season, the residents had the opportunity to re-pot some winter flowers that will be displayed outside the home. Autumnal walk

We enjoyed a lovely autumn walk to Cyfarthfa Castle in Merthyr. After strolling around the pond, we bundled up warmly and spent the morning outdoors, enjoying some fresh air with Gloria and Ron.

Bonfire Night at The Lodge

We chose a fantastic way to celebrate Bonfire Night. Our evening featured delicious bonfire-themed treats, including chocolate and marshmallow croissant s’mores, marshmallow sparklers, and hot chocolate topped with cream. We also enjoyed a fun Bonfire Night-themed quiz. It was an incredibly delightful and delicious evening!

Special visit from an RAF chef

We had the honour of welcoming Michelle Clark, a serving Royal Air Force Air Specialist Class 1 Chef. Michelle teamed up with our cook, Khai, to prepare a delicious beef bourguignon for lunch, followed by a fruit crumble. The residents, staff, and families all enjoyed meeting Michelle and learning about her experiences in the Air…

Crafting poppies for Remembrance Day

We have some fantastic artists here at Applewood, so it wasn’t a surprise that everyone got involved in creating beautiful poppy designs in preparation for Remembrance Day.

A pub favourite for residents at The Orchard

Raising a glass to good company, great food and drink, and happy memories! Our Orchard residents always enjoy visiting the Old Court Hotel, which has quickly become a favourite destination for excellent hospitality. Here’s to many more fun-filled outings ahead!
