Applewood

Every year, the National Citizen Service (NCS), a group of about twenty 16-17 year old volunteers, spend the day in our Applewood Care Home. They are lucky to be joined by Sherfield School students every week, who give up their lunch hour to play games with the residents instead.    

Applewood went down to Clift Meadow for an afternoon of races, shows, music and of course burgers! Jean, Margaret, Nan and Ahmedi’s family joined them along with Saturday volunteers, Sam, Beth and Izzy.

Applewood are attempting something new this year, in order to jazz up our residents’ birthdays! Laura has decided to let the resident decide what they want to.. wherever this be bowling or going for a boat trip, the choice is endless! Take a look below to find out what has happened so far…
