Residents collected a delicious haul of chocolate eggs on Easter Sunday – everyone loved their Easter treat.

Applewood celebrated St Patrick’s Day with some shamrock painting and some of us dressed up in a Guinness hat!

The residents have a new tablet of their very own to play games, Skype and even do some online shopping.  Audrey enjoys playing games, Margaret has been thoroughly enjoying continuing to use her IT skills, just as she did during her working life. Jean likes to play ‘Bubble Shooter’.

Friday 1st November was a much anticipated date in the Applewood diary… it was 20 years ago to the day that Milkwood Care opened its first home. There was no wind to show off our new commemorative flag but we didn’t mind – we celebrated with Prosecco and a chocolate fountain and residents and families…

When we’re not out and about in the fresh air, there’s lots going on indoors here at Applewood. We’ve enjoyed cocktail-making when residents enjoyed an afternoon of drinks-shaking, St Patrick’s Day, St George’s Day, pancake tossing, Red Nose Day, Mothering Sunday and the ever so popular Strictly Sundays.

We are delighted that Applewood has been named as a ‘runner up’ by The Cinnamon Trust, in their search for the ‘Pet Friendly Care Home of the Year’. The ‘runner up’ award certificate was presented to Liz, Deputy Manager at Applewood, by a local vet who is based in Tadley. If you wish to leave…
