We are continuing to keep our residents active and entertained – one of their favourite activities is ‘musical balloon’.Here we have Colin, Ros, Joan, Viv and Gillian enjoying listening to music from their younger days as they passing the balloon to one another.

Rhoda celebrated her 93rd birthday with a birthday surprise window visit from her son, Simon. She enjoyed sitting and reading her cards from her loved ones. Say ‘Hello!’ to our new residents, Joyce Beavan and Joyce Thom! Joyce Thom enjoys speaking to the staff and residents about her younger days as a teacher and about her previously owned cars! Joyce Beavan likes walkingthe home with a purpose, chatting to staff and residents and giving everyone she meets a cheeky grin.

In the evening, one of our night staff brings in her puppy to spend timewith the residents. Here we have Pat, Joss and Celia enjoying some puppycuddles! We enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea outside, one sunny afternoon. We had ‘crusts off’ cucumber sandwiches, with other mixed fillings and an array of delicious fruits, including strawberries, grapes and raspberries. A firm favourite was the profiteroles – these went down very nicely with our cups of tea! It was a lovely treat to eat…

We often blow up and play with balloons to help practice our hand-eye coordination. Balloon exercises are a really fun way for everyone to move, stretch and keep fit.
