Winston and many other visiting relatives have really made our residents happy with their window visits. These photos show that having a chat through the glass with loved ones is a great way to make someone’s day!

It’s so colourful, here at Ganarew! Rainbows are symbols of peace and hope adopted by the NHS, and during the coronavirus pandemic, rainbows are being displayed everywhere to thank social care workers and NHS staff all over the country. Sylvia was thrilled to invite in members of Mind, the mental health charity, to collect our donation of Christmas food. Eva was delighted to present the donation to our guests,  accompanied by Sylvia. We are really pleased to display the certificate that shows that we helped to fundraise for the charity.

According to William Shakespeare, “Music is the food of love” and it’s clear that many of our residents simply LOVE music. Music is uplifting and food for the soul and our folk at Ganarew just love to get up and have a dance.

Denise, who is currently a resident at Ganarew is a bubbly, lovely lady. In her early years, Denise enjoyed horse riding and playing the piano. She had four children and has cherished memories of motherhood. There is nothing she enjoys more than spending precious time with her family. Keeping fit is one of Denise’ favourite pastimes…

Our residents at Ganarew often look forward to art class with Heather. Residents are joined with friends from their sister home across the road – The Orchard. Heather has chosen some beautiful pastel pinks and lilac coloured flowers from her own garden and the residents have small bowls and oasis to create an arrangement.    

Isobel, is and always will be, a dearly missed resident here at Ganarew. She would always have a smile on her face and brighten up any room. She truly enjoyed our gardens, and as a thank you for taking care of Isobel, her family gifted Ganarew House a beautiful garden seat for our residents to enjoy…
