A very beautiful resident had her birthday today. Thank you for sharing your cake with us all Glenys and what beautiful flowers!

Out resident, Eva had a family visit recently. She absolutely loves labradors and used to have one herself. She enjoyed seeing her family too out in the fresh air in the garden which Eva loves.

One of our lovely residents Gina, has just completed a virtual puzzle on our dementia table. Let’s hope there is some cake like this for teatime!

To get the residents moving this afternoon we had a fun “roll of the dice” game. It was great fun and even a little competitive between the residents!

For a very special dessert after our dinner, we dug out the chocolate fountain, complete with some dipping delicacies, fruit, mini donuts and of course marshmallows. It was a hit with all the residents!

We’ve had some wonderful homemade delights coming from our kitchen the last few weeks. Some of our homemade dishes including, salmon fish cakes, herby chicken goujons and some mouthwatering puddings.

We have celebrated a couple of the ladies’ birthday’s this month. Margaret enjoyed visitors and flowers and the birthday girl Rhoda had some lovely cards and presents.

The residents and staff had a very enjoyable day watching Wimbledon with Scones and strawberries and cream and Prosecco or pink lemonade.

Our residents are relishing time spent with our new babies. The use of life-like dolls or soft toy animals can bring great benefits to some people with a diagnosis of dementia, particularly those in later stages. Today we decided we would create our very own fairground in the lounge. We got the pool out and played “Hook a Duck”. The residents loved this game, just look at the concentration on their faces!
