Milkwood

Milkwood had a special Mexican fiesta party and here we are dancing to ‘The Macarena’, ‘La Lambada’ and ‘La Bamba’. Of course, we also did a Mexican hat dance.

We decided to really go town with making decorations for our Mexican themed party. The residents all chipped in with painting, cutting,glueing and sticking!

Here are some of our residents getting stuck in with a bit of upcycling in the garden. The crafty team cleverly turned old pallets and tyres into planters for the garden.

Here are some of the residents playing cricket in the garden. The ladies chose to watch the action and kept an eye on the men to make sure they weren’t cheating.

Sally has been organising “brunchfasts”. She has successfully held two events so far. Smoked salmon and omelettes, cakes, pastries and selection of juices and fresh fruit were on offer. Absolutely delicious!

It was a lovely day, full of sunshine on our Anne’s birthday. We made the most of the weather and a group of the ladies had afternoon tea outside.Anne then had a nice supper with birthday cake and presents.

To make the most of the sunshine last month, we had a garden party!Everyone spent the whole day outside, we had a bar, BBQ, painting station and even some Karaoke sung by our Shaun.

Residents spent the first week of isolation getting mucky in the garden. Everyone enjoyed time out in the sun and it was nice to start getting the garden looking lovely for summer.

Here are some of the residents getting the vegetable plots ready for planting. We’ve planted sweetcorn, tomatoes, chard, carrots and radishes. With more on the way, we’ll be eating lots of our fresh veggies this year.

Family and friends have been keeping in touch in the good old fashioned way! We’ve had lots of letters, care packets, puzzles and photos through the door. That’s not to say we haven’t been getting in touch with everyone via phone, Skype and WhatsApp.
