Halloween Lunch!

During our ‘Hallo-week’, we had a Halloween inspired lunch! These ladies had a howling time, eating spooktacular snacks at their frightening feast. A big ‘thank you’ to Charlotte at Charlotte’s Cakes and Bakes for our Halloween treat box- it was amazing.

Keeping Fit

Keeping active is very important, now more than ever. During lockdown the staff have tried to think of fun and interesting ways to keep our residents moving. Yoga and balloon tennis are firm favourites here. Cathy and Win really enjoy hitting the balloon and are very competitive. Look at the huge smile on Cathy’s face.

Pumpkin Carving & Treats

We have had a spook-tacular morning listening to Halloween music, carving our pumpkins and getting into the Halloween festivities. The people we care for who joined in really did a fantastic job designing and carving the pumpkins! Some of our chaps got busy in the kitchen creating sweet treats that they moulded into pumpkin shapes.…

Music to our ears

We held a ‘Strictly Sunday’ dance afternoon, here’s everyone enjoying the music and some even had a little dance.

Fiesta Party!

Milkwood had a special Mexican fiesta party and here we are dancing to ‘The Macarena’, ‘La Lambada’ and ‘La Bamba’. Of course, we also did a Mexican hat dance.

Party decoration

We decided to really go town with making decorations for our Mexican themed party. The residents all chipped in with painting, cutting,glueing and sticking!

Rocking Lockdown

Our activities lead, Amanda, very kindly collected some large rocks from her visit to the seaside for everyone to decorate. Staff and residents alike joined in to create colourful painted rocks to adorn the flower beds of our garden. Being creative is such an important outlet for our residents and is a wonderful way to…

Pamper Day

Our lady residents really enjoy getting their nails manicured and polished. Look at these pretty fingers!

Basket Weaving

Craft class was taken outside on a warm day, we also enjoyed some tea/fruit juices and a biscuit or two! The residentstook their time carefully weaving different colours around the template to make a beautiful small basket/bowl. They alldid a great job! As you can see we had a lovely afternoon together.

Poetry Time

Our resident has always enjoyed both reading and listening to poetry and used to run the Petersfield Poetry Club, where she spent many happy years enjoying the works of different poets. The residents’ friends still send her poems and she enjoys us reading them to her and then discussing the contents of the poem. It…
