The residents created this beautiful collage of rainbows and clapping hands to show their appreciation for everyone who has been caring for them during the pandemic. What a cheery and colourful way to say thank you!

We also like relax inside with crafting, colouring and playing games or chatting to family online, on our iPad.

With all the nice weather, we have been outside and able to make sure our raised beds are looking their best. We’ve planted new flowers and they look incredibly bright and cheery!

Our residents are keeping in touch with their families online during this challenging time. Skype and Facetime are the most popular means of communication with relatives and friends and our residents enjoy seeing and talking to their loved ones.

We’ve been so lucky with the weather, we’ve spent time in the garden enjoying music, dancing, and even a tipple or two!

Whilst the country is on lockdown, Applewood continue to do what we do best, which is to PARTY ON!!! We have partied classical style, vintage style, strictly 40s 50s 60s and 70s styles, country music style and even medieval style! We love any excuse to eat drink and be merry and, well…DANCE!!!

VE Day at Applewood was a hit with all our residents! We had it all going on, including a street party with fish and chips, served in paper like the good old days! We set off balloons to celebrate 75 years since the end of WW11, and we even had our own man in military…

On St George’s Day, Applewood had a street party indoors! Residents enjoyed fish and chips, and a good old sing-a-long!

We are in lockdown!! But we are all safe and keeping our spirits up by getting creative with activities.
