Applewood

We have some fantastic artists here at Applewood, so it wasn’t a surprise that everyone got involved in creating beautiful poppy designs in preparation for Remembrance Day.

This fireworks night, we braved the evening chill and ventured out into the garden with our sparklers. It was a lovely experience, and lots of fun to join in together for such a nostalgic tradition.

We celebrated Halloween by baking some delicious Halloween-themed cupcakes and donning witchy hats and bat-wing headbands. It was a fun and creative way to get into the Halloween spirit.

Colder days never stop us from finding fun indoor activities to enjoy. For example, our wonderful residents at Applewood recently hosted a men vs. women apple pie-making challenge, inspired by The Great British Bake Off. What a fantastic (and delicious) idea!

A new farm shop has arrived in our local area and we just couldn’t wait to pop along to see it. We enjoyed a drink in their cafe and everyone agreed that it’s a lovely place.  The setting provided the perfect backdrop for some warm conversations – mainly about our children and grandchildren. 

We enjoyed an incredible day out at Milestone Museum recently, combined with an afternoon of nostalgia as we took part in a singalong with the Dementia Music Choir. We’re so excited to share our new upstairs lounge! This is a place we’ve designed especially for residents to enjoy ‘sit and do’ activities, relax, and spend some 1:1 time with their loved ones.  It’s a lovely, calming space for residents and family members to spend some quality time together.
