Applewood

We held a Mad Hatter’s tea party – everyone went to town with their hats and bonnets.

Our residents enjoyed lots of cuddles with Applewood’s newest arrival, our new therapy doll. There were lots of smiles and many ofthe ladies commented on how lifelike the doll is and how joyful a baby’s cuddle is (real or not!).

We had a lovely time celebrating Christmas Day here at Applewood. We must have been good all year as Santa paid us a visit!

What did December bring to us at the home? A pantomime! Oh no, it didn’t… oh yes, it did!

Applewood decided that we would have a ‘Guy-ette’ this year. The residents brought her to life and she enjoyed her time mixing with and chatting to everyone. Just to let you know, we didn’t burn her!

Halloween at Applewood was a very spooky occasion, with lots going on throughout the day. The residents enjoyed carving pumpkins, decorating cakes and dressing up. Bashing the pumpkin pinãta was a very popular game!

Our residents enjoyed going back to the swinging 60s with a flower power music festival. Everyone that got involved had a thoroughly good time.

Residents enjoyed turning boring brown flower pots into colourful and eye catching masterpieces. Some of the residents set about making sure our feathered friends will have food. Applewood hosted a garden party to raise funds for a dementia charity, and we raised approximately £150. Everyone enjoyed the cream tea and, of course, sitting in the sunshine.
