Mountains

This morning the residents enjoyed a game of skittles, well done to Rosa who is the current champion and knocked all the pins down!

The residents enjoyed making their own authentic Italian favourites one afternoon pizza! There were plenty of toppings to choose from, including cheese, tomatoes,ham and mushrooms. As you can see from the photos, everyone enjoyed spreading and sprinkling the ingredients on the bases.The finished pizzas looked and tasted “bellissimo!”

Over the last few weeks, three of our residents celebrated their birthdays. Mr Alan Harper, Mr Dennis Watkins and Mrs Tahereh Javady. The trio all received birthday cakes and presents and they enjoyed having “Happy Birthday” sung to them.

A busy morning here at The Mountains as we get into the festive spirit decorating our tree in the Mari Jones unit.

There have been many reasons to celebrate in our home recently. Firstly, we welcomed our new manager and celebrated the 20th anniversary of Milkwood Care with a fireworks display and cakes. On 8th June we had visitors from OM Interactive to visit and they gave us an interactive board demonstration. The board was great; the residents and staff played together on the interactive board and it created many good ways to start conversations as it had questionnaire games and colouring games with pictures from the 1960s,…

A circus themed activity group session was held at The Mountains. Everyone was encouraged to hold onto a parachute and work together to roll the ball around inside it. We also had some fun with silly hats and wigs, balloon swatting, and we watched some plate spinning. The session brought people together, interacting and having fun…

The Mountains had a great time at this year’s ‘beach’ themed summer fête! The home was decorated in all things beachy, a BBQ was held in the garden (which was cooked very well by manager Stephanie and care assistant Chris), Musicare provided the entertainment and of course, a raffle was held.
