New Toy

Thank you to the amazing Sandra Buck, who completed a sky dive to raise money. Along with her sponsorship, and Milkwood contribution, yesterday our residents got to play with our new toy for the first time! They absolutely loved it!

Spooktacular Saturday

We embraced the spooky season today with some pumpkin carving and traditional Halloween dancing with the team! Two of our ladies have spent some time helping us carve pumpkins to display in our home! Halloween Fun

David, Gaye, John and some of the staff had fun carving out scary faces on their pumpkins. Gaye particularly enjoyed this, as she hadn’t carved a pumpkin since her children were young and it brought back fond memories to her.

Salt Dough Pumpkins

We had great fun this morning getting crafty and making some salt dough pumpkins ready for Halloween! The ladies have done a fantastic job, I’m sure you’ll agree!

Open for Business

We have opened our very own little shop here at The Mountains. Residents can come and have a browse at our shelves and buy any items that take their fancy! We have it fully stocked with books, toiletries and of course sweet treats!

Woodland Walk at Mallards Pike

Cheese & Wine Tasting

Everyone enjoyed a wonderful cheese and wine tasting session. We had a selection of cheeses and wines for our residents to choose from, with a selection of crackers to accompany the cheese. The residents thoroughly enjoyed their sampling session!

Bake Off Afternoon

Our residents love watching the Great British Bake Off. Today we were inspired so made some very delicious cupcakes of our own!

Castleford Casino

Today, for the first time, we opened our own Casino! We decorated our Severn Lounge to get the real feel of a Vegas Casino and brought a little bit of Vegas to Castleford this afternoon! We listened to 70’s pop music, enjoyed some tapas-style food and, of course, drank champagne to create the perfect atmosphere…
