We had a very special VE Day celebration here at Braeburn Lodge. We had our very own soldier come and visit us and we had a good old sing song. We then had a delicious afternoon tea.

On 6th May, Braeburn Lodge celebrated National Nurses’ Day. It was a chance for us to appreciate our wonderful NHS, as well as the daily hard work and challenges faced by our nursing teams, especially during these testing times. With spring well and truly in the air, we’ve been able to enjoy our lovely garden again. One day, in particular, was very warm so out we went with our sun hats adorned to make the most of the sunshine. Even Romeo came out to say hello.

At the end of April, we were finally able to welcome back our wonderful hairdresser, Tracey. As always, COVID-19 guidelines were followed to the letter to ensure the safety of our residents. We had a fabulous weekend prepping and celebrating St George’s Day. We made some delicious cupcakes all decorated with the St George’s flag. As the weather was so beautiful we had our buffet and lunch outside, complete with some wonderful cocktails to celebrate the sunny weather! We also had a furry visitor to join in…

We had a fun morning full of fun and games! We got the parachute out and played a game of keeping the balloons up. This activity really helps with coordination and is great fun for the residents.

With COVID-19 restrictions slowly lifting, we have been finally able to invite much missed relatives into the home. Braeburn Lodge is taking every precaution to continue to keep our residents safe, with family members taking an LFT test before entry and wearing the appropriate PPE in accordance with government guidelines.
